Can I come in for a Private Tour of SmallPaws?
We are open for private tours of our luxury cattery by appointment only from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm Tuesday through to Saturday during school term only.

Does my cat share their room with another cat?
No, only cats from the same family share enclosures.
Does my can get outside each day?
We prioritise your cat’s health and well-being, which is why all our cattery guests enjoy complimentary access to a spacious exercise area for approximately two hours per day. This area is equipped with scratching trees, toys, logs, and chairs to keep them entertained. For their safety, we do not socialise cats unless they are from the same family.
Each Apartment enclosure features both indoor and outdoor sections, connected by a secure cat flap. This allows your cat to enjoy fresh air and a view of the garden and exercise area from the safety of their own space, even when it's not their turn for playtime.
Will my cat be locked in if it rains all day?
All of our exercise areas have a covered roof.
Will my cat get too hot or cold at SmallPaws?
All our accommodations are fully air-conditioned and heated for your cat’s comfort year-round.
Is there an extra charge for senior cats?
Not at all! We warmly welcome our older guests, many of whom have been staying with us since they were kittens. Our fully heated and air-conditioned accommodation ensures they remain comfortable in all seasons.
What if my cat becomes unwell?
With over 30 years of experience, we can quickly recognise when a cat isn’t feeling their best. Our trusted local vet is just minutes away and available on call. If needed, we will notify you or your emergency contact immediately. If you prefer, we can arrange transport to your own vet at an additional cost.
Do you offer grooming for cats?
We provide brushing for long-haired cats, with a small additional fee for this service.
Is there a charge for administering medication?
We administer medications (excluding injections) at no additional cost. However, all oral medications, including tablets and liquids, must be easily mixed into your cat’s food. Please ensure all medications are clearly labelled with your cat’s name and dosage instructions.
Please note that we do not accept FIV-positive cats or those previously diagnosed with Cat Flu.
Cat Food and Dietary Needs
What food do you provide for cats?
All cats, regardless of their accommodation level, can choose from Whiskas, Fancy Feast, and Purina biscuits.
Can you cater for special diets for cats?
We understand that many cats have specific dietary needs. You are welcome to bring your cat’s special food to ensure they stick to their usual diet. However, we are unable to offer a discount if you choose to provide your own food.
Do you offer weight management programmes for cats?
Weight management is a common concern for pet owners. We can create a custom weight loss plan for your cat, combining a controlled diet and tailored exercise during their stay.
What if my cat refuses to eat?
Most cats settle in and begin eating within a day or two of arrival. However, some may experience a temporary loss of appetite due to a new environment.
With over 30 years of experience in cat care, we know how to gently encourage cats to feel relaxed and comfortable enough to eat. We spend time soothing them, offering reassurance, and monitoring their behaviour. If necessary, we will contact you to discuss options, including sourcing special food to tempt their appetite.
Cat Pricing, Discounts & Cancellations
How much does cat boarding cost?
Our cat boarding prices vary depending on the season (peak or off-peak) and the level of accommodation chosen. We do not charge for the day of departure if your cat is collected before 10:00 am.

Do you offer discounts for multiple pets?
Yes, we offer a discounted rate of $25 per additional cat when sharing the same room.
We also provide a 5% discount for families with both a single cat and a dog. If your pets share a photo session, video session, or playtime session, only one session fee applies.
Do you offer discounts for long-term cat boarding?
Yes, we offer:
- 10% discount for cats staying longer than three weeks during the off-peak season.
- Custom pricing for cat boarding stays over nine weeks – please contact us for a personalised quote.
Do you offer discounts for senior cat owners?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount on cat boarding Apartment bookings during the off-peak season for senior cat owners.
What is your Cat Boarding Cancellation Policy?
Off-Peak Season
- A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your cat’s boarding reservation. This must be paid via bank transfer or credit card within 24 hours.
- If the deposit is not received within this timeframe, the cat boarding booking will be automatically cancelled.
- Once received, you will receive an automated booking confirmation email.
Cat Boarding Cancellations:
- More than 7 days before the booking start date – the $100 deposit is retained as a credit, valid for 12 months.
- Within 7 days of the booking start date – the deposit is forfeited.
Peak Season (NSW School Holidays & Long Weekends)
Full Payment Policy for Peak Season Cat Boarding:
- Full payment is required within 48 hours to confirm a peak season cat boarding booking.
- If payment is not received within 48 hours, the booking will be cancelled.
Cancellations for Peak Season Cat Boarding:
- Once full payment is made, no refunds or credits are issued for cancellations or changes, unless:
- The Australian Federal Government introduces travel restrictions due to COVID-19. In this case, a credit of equal value will be issued, valid for 12 months.
- A minimum of 3 months’ notice is provided.
Changing Cat Boarding Dates During Peak Season
- Once full payment has been made, no refunds or credits will be given for an early checkout, unless:
- The Australian Federal Government introduces COVID-19 travel restrictions (credit valid for 12 months).
- A minimum of 3 months’ notice is provided.

Arriving & What to Bring
Do you offer a pet taxi service for my cat?
Yes!
We are proud to offer our very own Pet Taxi service, available Monday to Friday for selected suburbs across the Northern Beaches and North Shore. We plan to expand to more areas soon.

Should I bring my cat’s bedding?
We provide plenty of comfortable beds and blankets for all our guests. However, if your cat finds comfort in their own bed, you are welcome to bring it along.
Please note:
- We cannot guarantee that bedding will return in the same condition.
- We allow one bed/blanket and one toy per cat.
- If you’re concerned about damage, consider purchasing an inexpensive bed before your cat's stay and allowing them to sleep on it for a few nights. This will help transfer their scent and provide reassurance while boarding.
Can I bring toys for my cat?
Yes, you may bring one clearly marked toy. However, please be aware that toys can sometimes go missing, and we cannot guarantee that they will be returned home.
What vaccinations does my cat need?
All cats must have a current F3 vaccination before boarding with us.
- If your cat has recently been vaccinated or is due for a vaccination before arrival, it must be completed at least seven days prior to boarding.
- We require proof of vaccination upon check-in.
Please ensure your cat’s vaccination record is up to date and ready for review at drop-off.
What are the drop-off and pickup times?

- Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 2:30 pm
- Saturday: 7:30 am – 12:00 noon
Pickup Times (By Appointment Only)
- Monday – Saturday:
- 7:30 am – 10:00 am – No charge for that day
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Half-Day Daycare Fee: $20
- 12:00 pm – 3:45 pm – Full-Day Daycare Fee: $40

Private Tours
We welcome private tours by appointment from Tuesday to Saturday between 11:00 am – 12:00 noon, during school terms only.
What should I bring for my cat’s holiday?
To ensure a smooth check-in, please bring:
- A copy of your cat’s up-to-date vaccination record from your vet
- Any medications your cat requires
- One bed/blanket and one toy (if it will help your cat settle in, but nothing too valuable)
- Emergency contact details (phone number or email) in case we need to reach you
- Typed instructions if your cat has a complex medication or feeding routine
